Conclusion of the Training Workshop for Alternative Education and Adult Literacy Facilitators
The training workshop, organized by the African Vision for Development Organization in partnership with UNICEF and the Ministry of Education and Guidance in Gedaref State, concluded today at the Training Center. The workshop targeted 30 facilitators from West Galabat and Rural Central Gedaref localities, focusing on Arabic language and mathematics.
📌 Key Remarks and Highlights
- Mr. Abdelaziz Al-Rasheed, Director of the Primary Education Department and representative of the Acting Minister of Education, praised the consistent efforts of national and international organizations in reducing illiteracy rates across the state. He urged the trainees to implement the knowledge and skills they gained during the workshop in their respective localities.
- Mr. Malik Al-Khidir, Director of the Department of Adult Education and Alternative Learning, stated that the department has developed an ambitious plan within the current year’s budget to reduce the number of out-of-school children through both traditional and digital learning methods. He added that future phases will include facilitator training in English language and life skills.
- Dr. Abdelbagi Idris, Director of the African Vision for Development Organization, affirmed the continuation of training programs to include community mobilization aimed at raising awareness of the importance of enrolling children and youth in education centers. He also emphasized the need to focus on child protection and preventing violence and exploitation.
