“Minister of Education and Guidance Launches UNICEF School Grant Distribution in Gedaref”

The Acting Minister and Director-General of the Ministry of Education and Guidance, Mr. Al-Fatih Safi Hamza, officially launched today the distribution of the school grant provided by UNICEF to the Localities of Eastern and Central Gedaref. This took place at the Training and Capacity Building Center during the closing session of a training course conducted by the African Vision for Development Organization in Gedaref State. The course benefited 57 participants, including school principals and members of educational councils from the municipalities of Gedaref and Central Gedaref.

In his speech, the Minister emphasized the significant role played by both UNICEF and the African Vision Organization in improving education, calling on NGOs to increase their involvement, particularly in preparing schools as examination centers for the Sudanese Certificate Exams (Tawjihi) scheduled for December 28th.

Mr. Hashim Kurbos, the UNICEF Representative in Gedaref State, stressed the importance of using the school grant to improve the learning environment for students. He highlighted that these training sessions are being implemented in partnership with UNICEF, the funding organization, and the Ministry of Education and Guidance of Gedaref State.

The Minister concluded by noting that the training program would continue in the localities of Al-Faw and Western Galabat on Wednesday, ensuring a broader reach to enhance educational quality across the state.
