As part of a humanitarian partnership between the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and African Vision Organization, a project was implemented to provide 1,000 emergency shelters for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in camps and temporary school-based shelters, as well as in some public locations across Gedaref, Central Gedaref, and West Gallabat localities.
The initiative also targeted vulnerable individuals within host communities, with active participation from the Ministry of Social Welfare and the Humanitarian Aid Commission. The project lasted for ten days, beginning with site assessments and beneficiary verification, followed by the distribution of shelter construction materials.
The impact was clearly felt on the ground, as many beneficiaries expressed their satisfaction and gratitude, highlighting how the intervention significantly improved their living conditions.
