Launch of the Training Program for Alternative Education Teachers at Shelter Centers

Supervised by the Ministry of Education and Guidance
Implemented by the African Vision Organization for Development in Gedaref State
Funded by UNICEF

Mr. Taj Al-Sir Al-Amin, Representative of the General Director of the Ministry of Education and Guidance and Director of the Core Unit, praised this morning the launch of the training course held at the Training Center Hall in Gedaref. The event was attended by Dr. Abdel Bagi Idris, Director of the African Vision Organization for Development in Gedaref State, Mr. Alam Al-Din Yahya Farah, Director of the General Directorate of Training and Capacity Building, Mr. Malik Al-Khidr, Director of Adult Education and Literacy at the Ministry, and Mr. Mahdi Abkar Mahdi.

The training course, organized by the African Vision Organization for Development and funded by UNICEF, targets 30 male and female teachers specializing in Arabic Language and Mathematics from the localities of West Gallabat and Central Gedaref.

Mr. Alam Al-Din Yahya welcomed the ministry’s departments and the participating teachers from various localities, while Dr. Abdel Bagi Idris emphasized the importance of the partnership between the organization and the Ministry of Education and Guidance in implementing educational activities and programs in accordance with clear principles and guidelines to achieve the desired educational goals.

For his part, Mr. Malik Al-Khidr affirmed that education is the foundation of life and must be promoted—especially among children and youth who have dropped out or missed the opportunity to receive formal education. He added that the training course aims to prepare well-rounded educators for adult and youth education in shelter centers by equipping them with the necessary teaching competencies to apply in alternative education centers.

In the same context, Ms. Fawziya Ibrahim Al-Samani, Director of the Ministry’s Training Department, stated that training is a cornerstone of the educational process, facilitating the exchange of experiences and the acquisition of new skills to enhance the quality and effectiveness of education.
