Dr. Abdul Aziz Al-Mahi, representative of the Director General of the Ministry of Education and Guidance and Director of Human Resources at the ministry, inaugurated the campaigns for registering children and youth outside the school age, specifically those aged 7 to 10, 10 to 14, and 15 to 24 years in the Gedaref State. It is noted that these campaigns are being implemented by the African Vision Organization for Development in Gedaref State. During the opening speech for the registration, Dr. Abdul Baqi Idris called on all members of the community in the targeted neighborhoods and localities to expedite the registration of children and youth who are out of school to catch up with education. He was joined in this call by Mr. Malik Al-Khidr, Director of Adult Education in the state, Mr. Mustafa Hasab Sido, General Director of Municipal Education, and Ms. Amina Awati, Director of Girls’ Education. It is worth mentioning that the funding for these campaigns comes from UNICEF, and they are technically supervised by the Adult Education Department of the Ministry of Education and Guidance in Gedaref State. The targeted localities include Gedaref Municipality, Al-Faw, Al-Galabat Al-Gharbiyah, and the rural areas of Central Gedaref. The organization provides all necessary resources in the aforementioned localities to ensure the stability and continuity of education and to reduce the illiteracy rate in Gedaref State.
